Deadline for Alpha Testing of HOPE Extended

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and contractor Abt Associates announced that the deadline for application to be part of the alpha testing for Hospice Outcomes & Patient Evaluation (HOPE) has been extended.  The HOPE tool represents CMS’s efforts to standardize clinical data collection across the hospice sector. As part of their initiative to advance hospice quality, CMS has contracted with Abt Associates to develop, modify, and test a new hospice patient assessment instrument.

The deadline for hospices to apply to test the HOPE tool is now February 21, 2020. Providers chosen will be notified on or aroundMarch 5, 2020.  An honorarium will be provided to participating providers.
