  OH 43206\n\nCOURSE DESCRIPTION:\nSometimes\, sadness\, fear\, illness and 
 loss enter a child&rsquo\;s life. Using children&rsquo\;s literature as a s
 pringboard for conversations will give kids the chance to express their fee
 lings\, tell their own stories\, and deal with\ndifficult issues. Bobby&rsq
 uo\;s Books\, a program affiliated with Midwest Care Alliance\, offers educ
 ational seminars\, bibliographies\, hands-on activities\, lesson plans and 
 other resources to educate adults and enhance a child&rsquo\;s coping abili
 ties. This session will prepare participants to present this entire model p
 rogram including &ldquo\;Don&rsquo\;t Flush the Goldfish\,&rdquo\; in their
  own communities and organizations. It is Midwest Care Alliance&rsquo\;s in
 tention to invite trainers to consider being &ldquo\;ambassadors&rdquo\; fo
 r this project in their regions as requests for Bobby&rsquo\;s Books educat
 ion arise. Participants will receive all the resources they will need to en
 sure success in promoting and implementing this program.\n\nPURPOSE\nTo tra
 in health care professionals to teach other health care professionals on us
 ing children&rsquo\;s literature to guide children through change\, loss an
 d grief.\n\nCOURSE OBJECTIVE\n1. Describe common characteristics/hallmarks 
 of children&rsquo\;s grief and mourning.\n2. Identify children&rsquo\;s lit
 erature relating to coping mechanisms of change\, loss and grief.\n3. Descr
 ibe use of hands on activities/lesson plans relating to identified children
 &rsquo\;s literature.\n4. Discuss benefits & models of implementation of Bo
